Redesigned for 2019, the new Storm Chaser L-XL is an improved version of the original classic. The key changes include: 1/4" additional width, 1/4" less depth with shallower ends, a flatter hull under the end of the bow, and a resized cockpit that has been shrunk and reproportioned a bit.

These minor refinements update the original 2013 Storm Chaser to better match the other boats in our "Storm" family of designs that already have these enhancements.

As a final benefit, all of our Storm Chaser C-1 sizes and our Storm Giant C-2 now utilize the same interchangeable C-1 skirt.

The Storm Chaser features a wide forgiving flat hull with a highly rockered profile that spins in an instant - getting you where you want to go - fast! It is suitable for creeking and general river running alike and our kevlar/carbon/epoxy construction means that it can take a beating and yet weighs only around 26 lbs when fully outfitted.

While generally recommended for paddlers over 200 lbs, the Storm Chaser L-XL is also suitable for smaller paddlers wanting extra stability or those seeking an easy transition from open boat to C-1.
